Move to Canada with a Job Offer
If you already have a job offer from a Canadian employer or believe you will secure one soon then your chances of gaining entry to Canada are excellent. There are a variety of programs for people with "Arranged Employment" as the Canadian government terms it.
The first thing to decide is whether it’s a temporary move or a permanent one. If you want to come to Canada temporarily then you probably only want to apply for a Temporary Work Permit. For information on being a Temporary Worker and what your employer needs to do go here.
For a permanent move you may wish to apply as a Skilled Worker with an Arranged Employment Offer. There is usually a process your employer must go through to show that they had difficulty finding a Canadian to fill the position they have offered you. If you are in one of 38 specific occupations listed here then you may be able to save your employer the trouble of going through this process. To apply as a skilled worker you must have worked or be working in a skilled occupation and meet the Skilled Worker minimum Point Score. We encourage you to complete our free Online Assessment form to see if you qualify for this route.
If you have a job offer but you don’t meet the Point Score for the Federal Skilled Worker program then you may be able to apply through a Provincial Nominee Program, depending on which Province you plan to settle in. There is more information about Provincial Nominee Programs here.
If you don’t meet the points score AND the Province you want to go to doesn’t have a suitable Provincial program for immigration then your best bet may be to go as a Temporary Worker for now and apply for permanent residency later under the Canadian Experience Class.
