Canadian Experience Class

This is one of the most recent additions to Canada's immigration programs and was introduced in an attempt to retain more temporary workers and graduates of Canadian universities.

A Canadian Experience Class applicant must EITHER:

  • have graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution, having studied in Canada for at least 2 years
  • have at least 1 year of post-graduation work experience in a skilled occupation in Canada
  • have good language ability in either English or French

OR:

  • have at least 2 years of work experience in a skilled occupation as a temporary worker in Canada
  • have good language ability in either English or French

Generally the Canadian Experience Class is suitable for people who are already in Canada with temporary worker/student status or who have recently left and processing times are good.
